AIDA Documentary Creation Framework: A Professional Guide This masterclass centered on five core dimensions—theme, narrative, ethics, editing, and innovation—to provide a systematic approach to documentary creation. Through international case studies, it explored thematic depth, narrative structure, and ethical practice, offering students a full-process guide from topic selection to production to enhance their professional storytelling skills.

Film Law Fundamentals: Rights and Compliance in Creation Delivered by U.S.-licensed attorney Jonathan, this masterclass outlined the three pillars of film law—obtaining rights, exercising rights, and preventing interference. Emphasizing early legal involvement in production, it fostered legal awareness among students, ensuring creative safety and professional compliance throughout the filmmaking process.

TV BRICS: Global Film Cooperation and Cultural Exchange Led by Stanislava, this session introduced TV BRICS’s international collaboration model across its multilingual media network. It highlighted how film serves as a bridge for cultural diplomacy, co-production, and youth engagement, enabling students to broaden their global vision and develop cross-cultural communication skills.

Global Film Distribution and Business Models — Li Wenjuan Professor Li Wenjuan discussed international film distribution and market strategies through key cases. From the “Cocomelon vs. BabyBus” copyright dispute to the global success of “Joy of Life” and “The Grandmother’s Grandson”, she highlighted how quality content drives cultural and commercial value. Li also emphasized localization, copyright compliance, and trend awareness in cross-border cooperation.

Acting and Expression Workshop — Harold Instructor Harold led students from natural dialogues to expressive, abstract performances. Through hands-on practice and personalized feedback, participants explored rhythm, emotion, and body language, deepening their artistic awareness and authenticity in performance.

Creating Inspirational Stories — Anggi on Tegar Filmmaker Anggi shared the creative journey of Tegar, a film about a disabled boy’s resilience and dreams. Produced during the pandemic, the film combines authenticity and empathy, encouraging young creators to tell stories that inspire courage and inclusion.

At the Audiovisual Language Workshop, filmmakers from diverse countries and backgrounds shared their unique creative perspectives. Moris emphasized passion and teamwork in low-budget filmmaking; Natalia, through Bird Trip, explored the social responsibility of cinematic storytelling; Ma Jiawei discussed spatial expression and poetic imagery in The Mountain God’s Lie; Gu Bensen conveyed emotional warmth and artistic sincerity through Wild Grass; Korean director Sung Cheol Kim shared his experience and insights on animation production with ROBO99; Zhang Zhiwei presented the authenticity and humanistic depth of The Wild Kite, portraying children in northern Shaanxi; and Zhou Zhaohuan reflected on empathy and natural performance in children’s films such as Big Boss in Class.Together, their insights illuminated the creative possibilities of audiovisual language, inspiring students to explore storytelling with greater imagination, empathy, and innovation.
